AN IRISH BALLAD

for Mel O’Shit, that old friend of ours

Mr. O’Shit went to tavern,
and what happened was so funny:
they stole a little bag from him,
but they didn’t steal the money!

Quite a big big book it was,
everyone will sure agree,
and with such a little bag,
that is magic hard to see;

Then O’Shit went just a-crying,
desolated by the valley,
and he told he was just dying,
like an ugly crazy nunny;

Everyone said to each other,
“what a brave hero was born”,
but O’Shit just didn’t bother,
blowin’ in St. Martin’s horn;

And he said with voice of sorrow,
“I just came from there, outside”,
and everyone then would answer,
“that’s the place where you should hide”!

But it’s sure he was a master
in some sacred form of art:
defecating like a thunder
everywhere and everyone.

His own friends had learnt to suffer
this O’Shitty discipline,
but he said “sorry, my brothers”
like a petty beauty queen.

And he paid them with his friendship,
taking money from a bag
that some man from Mount o’ Sinners
gave him with a friendly heart,

And he laughed at Mount o’Sinners,
and at all the hills and lands,
dancing everywhere beshited,
and with him came all his lads,

Which one night he came a-robbing
from some City No One Sees,
after seducing them throwing
a warm hill of filthy shit.

What a joyful, funny company,
with their Mussolini jargon!
that old fat man Big Sam barking,
and that spanish-speaking galgo!

Oh, O’Shit from Land of Nowhere,
what a shameful song to sing!
prepare your ass and your bowels,
for the mess you will be in.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU READ, MR. O’SHIT????

A SONG FOR LUCY

Oh St. Martin, oh St. Martin,
with O’Shitty hand in hand!
Did you think your love was hidden
from the eyes of Everyone!

In your chair that’s undeserved,
you both loving with delight
each other, you spend your hours,
laughing at this Holy Land!

Making scorn of the good poets,
who hardly can build their lives,
and who work their verse with honest
wish of beauty and love of ART!

Oh St. Martin, oh St. Martin,
with O’Shitty hand in hand!
Did you think your love was hidden
from the eyes of Everyone!

Now we can know why O’Shitty
came up here to our big, bright
city to spit in the faces
of the grandeur and the light

Of two hundred years of Poetry,
and five hundred of Good Life,
you have as a wedding present
the Municipal Award!

Oh St. Martin, oh St. Martin,
with O’Shitty hand in hand!
Did you think your love was hidden
from the eyes of Everyone!

Such a passion with the “Mellies”
only you can really have,
take that mask out of your gesture,
let us see you as you are.

We could go there to your marriage,
we could cheer up with delight,
but there’s no one so hard-stomacked
to see that fat priest Big Sam.

Oh St. Martin, oh St. Martin,
with O’Shitty hand in hand!
Did you think your love was hidden
from the eyes of Everyone!

INVISIBLE SABBATH

Let’s dance, let’s dance, let’s dance in the woods
our Big Dark Lord Mellie is breaking thru

Our bonfire is burning, but nobody sees
this shit-lit big fire is dark and can’t gleam

We kiss each other, arse and dick,
there’s Lucy coming –he’s waiting on knees

The vigour of Mellie will make his face shine,
his bowels will tremble with crash after crash

Our priest with big belly who’s called the Big Sam
he, dull, go, come eating the shit of our bums,

Hey, there come some poets: hide, hide and go home
they come brave, fierce, gentle: it’s dawn, it’s dawn,

Our city is now falling, it fades and it dies,
nobody could see it, and nobody can.
